T-Shirt Tote Bag

Turning a t-shirt into a tote bag was the first re-craft project I ever attempted and it is very easy to do. You can make a bag in about 10 minutes. This would be a great craft project for a Birthday Party (child or adult) or Girl's Night Out and all you need is a pair of scissors and any kind of t-shirt.

Step 1: Begin with a t-shirt and keep in mind whatever size t-shirt you use will determine the size of the bag. For example, a larger t-shirt will make a larger bag.

Step 2: Cut off the collar, sleeves and bottom trim.

Step 3: Cut 1 inch strips across the bottom of the shirt. You can make them as long as you like. The longer they are the easier they will be to tie.

Step 4: Tie the strips together all the way across the bottom. This will close the bag. You can reinforce the bag by sewing above the knots (if you like to sew).

Final Product: I suggest that you dont use this to carry a gallon of milk or anything with a significant amount of weight. It makes for a great bag to pack your workout items in, a childs overnight bag or even a craft bag. I think you get the picture!
