Old Picture Frame Into A New Picture Board

This craft project is a great way to give an old picture frame hanging around the house a new look by turning it into a picture or message board.

I decided to do this craft because I changed the theme of our extra bathroom from monkeys to pirates and wanted a unique way to display fun pirate party and Halloween costume photos.

Step 1: The supplies necessary to complete this craft project are: scissors, craft glue, fabric and ribbon or even shoe laces. These are common items most of us have at home amongst our craft stash and because of that this project is free to complete.

Step 2: Remove the back of the picture frame and lay it on top of the material you want to use. You want to measure the material so that about an inch can be folded behind the frame.

Step 3: Flip the photo board over and begin to glue the edges of the excess material to the board. My suggestion is to complete the top and bottom first, then one side at a time pulling the material tight as you go so the front will have a smooth look when you're done.

Step 4: Get your ribbon all measured out before you begin to glue them. Once you glue them down use a binder clip to help hold them in place until the glue dries. Be sure and get the ribbon as tight as possible so the pictures will stay in place once you hang the frame back up.

Step 5: Once the glue has dried from Step 4 begin to add all of your favorite photos and put your new creation back on the wall. Your family and friends will be very impressed by your reuse skills. You will have a lot of fun with this project. Now get crafting and good luck!
